Purchased a 2004 Toyota 4 runner From Baldwin Automotive about 3 months ago. I have put almost 5 thousand miles on it. When I bought it I was also offered a warranty at cost!! The entire buying process was great. Thank you Baldwin Automotive (and Sadie the dog) for a great car at a great price!!
Recently bought a 2005 F-350 from Baldwin Automotive. The whole experience was wonderful. The salesman was extremely nice without being too pushy, the finance department was speedy and polite. I even got to meet John the general manager and Sadie the store mascot!! A great and honest family owned and operated business. If anyone that says anything other than that they are probably the problem.
I bought a used Hyundai Sante Fe from them. When I purchased the vehicle there was only a quarter tank of gas in it which is fine. But then when I went to fill up the tank it will only fill up halfway. Apparently the fuel sensors need work and this is an expensive repair. I find it hard to believe that the whole time they had the car they never put a full tank of gas in it. Also the price we agreed on was altered in the final documents and they ended up charging me and extra 200 dollars. I came in because of an online price that I saw and when I came in they tried to raise the price. I said no and we agreed upon a price. It turns out when I looked at the documents more closely they changed the price anyway and lied about it. I should have looked more closely which is my fault. However, I definitely did not come to the conclusion that this shop is honest.
Honestly I'm really struggling with this review. I wrote my experience and posted it earlier today. The review did not reflect well on the dealership, who already has a lot of great reviews. It was because of those great reviews that I felt good about buying from this dealership despite growing up with a dad that didn't like buying cars from dealerships. After reading my bad review, the dealership called to try and make things right. Awesome! I really appreciate that, but I don't like the expectation that I need to change my rating to be great for that reason. My experience still happened. Maybe this doesn't happen very often, maybe it does; I have no way of knowing. Do other people have similar experiences and take off their bad reviews? Or modify them? Kind of defeats the purpose of reviews. So here is my original review in a nutshell: I found a van on craigslist for $6,495. The next day the price was $6995. We had decided to buy the van before we knew that the price had been jacked back up. They said it needed to be painted and that cost $500 which is why the price was higher. It felt like a bait and switch, although they told me it wasn't. We decided not to get the van, but the dealership negotiated to cover $250 of the cost of the paint job. I have been so upset by the whole exchange (the 'nutshell' version does not convey my true frustration) which is why I wrote my original review like I did. I have modified my review to reflect that they tried to make things right. After reading my review, the dealership generously offered to cover all the cost for the paint job or let us return the van. Our experience has not been great, so we took them up on the offer and returned the van.
Purchased my 2013 Silverado from them about a month ago. They went through the whole truck and made sure it was serviced and ready to go for me. I drive a lot for work so I've put 3500 miles on it already. Great truck at at great price. The whole staff was very friendly and professional. Not your typical "used car lot"
