Most people try to compare Animal Care with the Humane Society and the are not the same type of shelter. Their spay/neuter clinic has some good points and bad as do any of the "low cost" facilities. I have had a cat spayed here and they charged me for pain meds I had to go back to pick up. Any place that will fix an animal before it is fully mature doesn't have the animals best interest at heart. Some states and many other cultures/ counties make you bring your animal to a very of your choosing when they reach 9 months. I have gone in and asked about flea treatment and it is no less expensive than getting it from your vet unless you want generic that never works as well. Animal Care will take stray animals whereas the Humane Society does not, they must be over surrender. They also sell purebred did and cats for very expensive prices at both shelters.
We adopted part of our forever family at this place. It was very well run and the animals were well taken care of. We adopted a golden lab mix. He is so friendly and lovable. The staff was super nice and went out of there way to make sure we got the dog we wanted. He had not had his surgery and we were leaving South Carolina to head back to Alabama. The staff was able to get his surgery scheduled that day so we could leave the next day. You really need to check this place out for yourself. It is wonderful!
This place is amazing! They are trying to get away from being a kill shelter and have been getting closer to that goal. They have a staff that truly cares about their work and the animals. They are not trying to make a profit here like at other local humane societies. Animal Care has specials to adopt for very inexpensive or even free at times. I adopted my dog, Penny (pictures attached), from here and had a very good experience with the adoption process. Penny was sick when I first adopted her, but she is thriving now and enjoying her new home. She has been a wonderful addition into my home and I encourage everyone that has the means to adopt from Animal Care. Please tell your family and friends as well, so Animal Care can move away from being a kill shelter.
Adopted my dog there. Staff was always kind to the animals when I was there visiting. That says a lot. I appreciate what they do for the animals
Adopted a wonderful 2 year old orange tabby cat and had a wonderful experience with the staff. I have seen many animals abandoned here through the years and they do a great job keeping up with all they have. I will always adopt here and save a life and help this organization that cares for all the unwanted precious animal lives. This is a great place to donate pet crates, blankets, etc. to and also to give donations as presents to the animal lovers in your life. They need our support and it feels great to help!
