Travel Plans: Michael and his staff recommended we stay overnight in Atlanta due to the bridge being out on I85, plus we could park our car there during our trip. This would have negated a great deal of the cost of the room and we wouldn't have to rush early in the morning. We agreed as this sounded like an excellent deal. When we arrived to check in, the hotel advised us that we could not leave vehicles there on the weekends (we were traveling on a Saturday through the following Friday) or when it was busy. Because of this we had to pay for the hotel room AND parking.
We went through Leisurenet Travel to book our recent vacation. I've given them one star as the pricing was great, but was not our primary concern with booking.
Patti has always been super helpful and always willing to answer any question my husband and I have about any destination. It was so nice having everything already planned for us with our busy schedules! Patti made sure our Children were also accommodated! We love this group!
Update: Edited my review after speaking with Michael, the hotel in Atlanta has refunded our stay due to the misunderstanding.
My group used leisure net travel for our trip to Vegas. Everything was a smooth process, with no hassle. We will use again.
Advice to interested parties: Book yourself and save the money. Do the research yourself for local sights and pat yourself on the back for not paying someone an unnecessary commission.
Flight: We were booked with Swift Air, a very low budget airline with minimal frills. I would have definitely preferred to pay more for delta.
We used LeisureNet Travel for our trip to Cancun and it was an awesome experience. The resort was excellent! They had everything setup for us. All we had to do was relax and enjoy our vacation! I will be using them for future trips!
Would have liked to have been greeted with a smile. Will find another travel agency to give my money
Overall Opinion: We could have booked this trip ourselves and saved some money, but assumed it would be easier using a travel agent. I expected tips on where to visit and what to do, but communication was minimal and the advice we received about hotel parking in Atlanta was incorrect. After our trip started we emailed Michael about the issue with the hotel room and were met with silence.
Destination: We were recommended the Grand Princess Riviera in Playa Del Carmen. While Playa Del Carmen was definitely gorgeous, the beach where we were staying was covered in algae (not the case in other areas we visited during the trip). I'm not sure if someone was responsible for cleaning up the beach there or what, but it was a disappointment. The hotel was all inclusive so alcohol and food were both included. The food options were mediocre at best and the frozen drinks contained scant amounts of alcohol. We actually rejoiced in leaving the resort to eat (another unintended cost, as we expressed an interest in staying somewhere with amazing food options). The resort was very clean and gorgeous, however the beds were like sleeping on cinderblocks. Heads up, never book excursions through your resort, they charged us 30.00usd more than everyone else who booked separately on the same bus.
