Fantastic concept, been there since day 1, happy with the progress and willingness to take risks and admit when something isn't working. Anyone walking into the school can clearly see the respect among students and Teachers and everyone's desire to be there, which is so critical at this age.
my asthma flares up big time in the building. i've talked to some teachers and they said other kids get sick at school and its hard to breathe. anyways, i've got a great spanish teacher to balance out the bad (shoutout to xanna). wish i didn't have to go to the doctor every other week for my asthma though... he thinks i'm insane for going another day lol.
I love this school. Peers are given the opportunity to help build the school and create an atmosphere to work and grow in. In other schools students will complain about problems with the school and either can't or won't work to fix it, but at Next, we can work together to solve our problems.
It's pretty chill 8/10
Some of the best teacher's I have ever had! They truly care for their students. With that being said, there are some downsides. The school is not able to provide basic needs such as chairs & stable tables (and there are no janitors!). We have to sit in all school meetings on the hard floor for 3 hours in total a week without any chairs…I don't need to explain why that is a problem. I love the teachers and the overall welcomeness of the students, but I don't know how it is possible that they don't have enough funds to provide these basic needs.
